Chin Strap A-La-Carte

$6.00

IF YOU ARE ORDERING A CHIN STRAP FOR A MUZZLE YOU ALREADY HAVE, PLEASE LIST THE MUZZLE SIZE AND STRAP COLOR IN THE NOTES. IF YOU NEED HELP DETERMINING THE SIZE, PLEASE REACH OUT.

Chin straps go under the dog’s chin, behind their jaw, and hold the muzzle in place, keeping it from slipping up off the dog’s snout and off their head. Together with the muzzle’s neck strap, they form a sort of collar around the dog’s head to keep it safe and secure. They also do a great job at reducing wobbliness.

The Chin Strap is often especially important for muzzles with full pant space, because without it, it can be easier for the muzzle to accidentally slip off the dog’s head due to the extra space at the bottom of the basket.

The length of the Chin Strap is adjustable by unscrewing and adjusting the position of the chicago screw holding it in place. Most dogs would benefit from the chin strap on their muzzle, but it may not be ideal for dogs who are extra jowly.

This listing is for a single chin strap on its own, full basket muzzle not included. It will come attached to your muzzle if you order it with one. If you order a Standard Muzzle with us, it will come in the same strap color as the muzzle you order—we do not customize the strap colors for Standard Muzzles.

The chin strap is meant to sit behind the dog’s jaw , tight enough that it prevents the muzzle from wobbling around, but loose enough not to cause any discomfort. You should be able to comfortably fit a couple fingers between the chin strap and the muzzle without it digging into your dog’s neck tightly, but it should not be loosely swinging around under the jaw.
