Forehead Strap A-La-Carte
FOR PURCHASE ALONGSIDE A STANDARD OR PREMADE BIG SNOOF MUZZLE.
Forehead straps are generally only recommended for dogs with very short snouts, to keep the muzzle from slipping down and off the nose. These are good for larger dogs with short noses, under about 2.5 inches, and smaller dogs with noses under about 2 inches. Dogs with longer snouts can still wear them for maximum security, but we find them to be generally unnecessary for longer nosed dogs. We find that Chin Straps and Collar Loops are a much more effective addition to our muzzles for almost any shape of dog to keep the muzzle very secure.
Important: These, along with the rest of our extra straps, are easily removable if you find it is unnecessary or if you find it is making your dog uncomfortable. Dogs do commonly seem to be uncomfortable with this strap, and it can make adjustment of the muzzle confusing, so we recommend starting by removing the forehead strap while initially adjusting the straps and conditioning your dog to wear their muzzle, especially if your dog is new to muzzles.
The length of the Forehead Strap is adjustable by unscrewing and adjusting the position of the chicago screw holding it in place.
This listing is for a single forehead strap on its own, full basket muzzle not included. It will be attached to your muzzle if you order it with one. If you order a Standard Muzzle with us, it will come in the same strap color as the muzzle you order—we do not customize the strap colors for Standard Muzzles.
